Level 1 — Beginner Barber Course

5 Weeks of Intensive, Hands-On Training

Our Level 1 Beginner Course is designed to take you from complete beginner (even if you’ve never held a pair of scissors before)  to understanding the core principles behind a professional haircut.

Rather than teaching you to simply copy a haircut, we teach you why and how we cut hair, giving you the knowledge and foundations needed to confidently work your way through a full haircut.

Throughout the 5 weeks, you’ll learn:

• Hygiene, safety and professional working practices

• Correct posture, body positioning and tool handling

• How to properly section the hair

• Scissor control and cutting techniques

• One-length cutting

• Layering

• Graduation

• Understanding shape, weight and structure

• Introduction to clipper work and blending

• How to approach and work through a complete haircut

The goal of Level 1 is to build strong fundamentals and good habits from the beginning.

Once you understand the foundations, you’ll be ready to progress into our Level 2 Workshops, where the focus moves towards working on real clients, understanding consultations and learning how to actually deliver modern hairstyles, fades, tapers and more.

Already have some barbering experience?

Level 1 may still be the right place to start.

Many self-taught or early-stage barbers can cut hair but have gaps in their fundamentals. We can help correct bad habits, improve sectioning, posture, technique and your understanding of why certain cutting methods are used.
