1. Who is this course for?
Our Beginner Barber Course is designed for complete beginners, school leavers, career changers, or anyone with a passion for barbering who wants to learn the foundations properly. No experience is required.
2. How long is the course?
The course runs for 8 weeks, 1 day per week, with 3-hour sessions (48 total training hours).
3. What qualification will I receive?
You will earn a Kings Barber Academy Certificate, backed by HABIA endorsement giving you a recognised and professional foundation in modern barbering.
4. How many students are in each class?
We limit each course to 4 students, ensuring maximum one-to-one support, faster learning, and a personal training environment.
5. Do I need to bring anything?
All students must have:
Clippers
Trimmers
Scissors
Combs
Brushes
Spray bottle
Hair dryer
If you need tools, you can add the Kings Starter Kit to your booking.
6. Do I need to bring my own models?
If you can bring your own model(s), great.
If not, Kings Barber Academy can provide models for you — just select this option on your intake form.
7. Can I pay in instalments?

8. Where does the course take place?
All training takes place in our dedicated Kings Academy Studio (Upstairs) at Kings Barber Studio, offering a fully equipped professional training environment.
9. Will I practise on real people?
Yes. You will work on both training heads and live models, gaining real hands-on barbering experience from Week 1 onwards.

11. What happens if I miss a class?
We understand life happens. If you miss a week, your educator will help you catch up through guided practice or additional notes. However, consistent attendance is required to complete the course.
12. Will I be ready to work in a barbershop after the course?
This is a foundation-level beginner programme. You’ll leave with:
Solid cutting skills
Confidence using tools
Understanding of modern techniques
A professional certificate
Most students move into:

13. Is there an age requirement?
No.
14. Can I take photos or film during classes?
Yes, as long as it doesn’t interfere with training. We encourage capturing your progress.
